Optional next steps

Every program and opportunity in this section is optional further learning beyond the Bitcoin Diploma. You do not need to follow any of these links to complete the Bitcoin Diploma.

Share your Diploma experience

After the course, complete the Diploma exit survey. Your feedback helps My First Bitcoin understand your learning experience, measure the Diploma's impact, and keep improving Bitcoin education.

Want to teach the Bitcoin Diploma?

The Educator Guide helps you prepare lessons, facilitate activities, adapt examples to your community, support safe practice, and assess what learners can do. Read the Educator Guide to plan your teaching.

Join a learning community

The Bitcoin Education Network connects independent educators and local learning communities. Find a community near you, or one whose work interests you, and contact it to ask how you can learn, volunteer, or contribute. Participation is optional and does not affect Diploma completion, assessment, or certification.

A safety reminder

Remember these rules:

  • A seed phrase or private key gives control of funds. Never share it.
  • Verify the recipient, network, address or invoice, amount, and fee before sending.
  • Bitcoin transactions are usually irreversible.
  • Use a small test when the process is new.
  • Do not act under pressure, fear, or promises of guaranteed profit.
  • Verify wallet software and support contacts through independent sources.
  • Identify who holds the keys.
  • Test recovery safely before meaningful funds depend on it.
  • Keep financial balances and security arrangements private.
  • Laws, taxes, fees, and services change. Check current local information.

Education reduces risk but cannot remove it. If a situation is unclear, stop and learn more before acting.

Use and adapt this curriculum

The Bitcoin Diploma is a living open-source curriculum. Corrections and improvements can be reviewed publicly.

The canonical curriculum source is: github.com/MyFirstBitcoin/mfb-curriculum

Check the edition or release information before teaching, translating, or adapting the material. If you find an error, use the repository's current contribution or issue process.

When adapting this work:

  • preserve the required Diploma competencies and safety rules
  • identify local examples clearly
  • verify current claims, services, laws, and fees
  • use consistent beginner terminology
  • state what you changed
  • attribute My First Bitcoin
  • publish the adaptation under the required open-source license

Certificate meaning and issuer

The 26.10 curriculum is published as a teaching package and assessment framework first. Publication does not mean that every educator or local route is ready to issue completion certificates. An educator issues a certificate only after preparing the required tasks, accessible routes, assessment record, and appropriate local safeguards, and after assessing the learner against the approved theoretical and practical requirements.

There are two certificate types:

  • A certificate of participation confirms attendance or participation. It does not confirm that the learner passed the assessment.
  • A certificate of completion confirms that the named educator assessed the learner and judged that every required competency met the standard.

The certificate is certification by the named educator or educator's organization. My First Bitcoin does not centrally evaluate the learner, issue the certificate, provide a central verification service, or guarantee the learner's competency. A completion certificate represents assessed beginner competence under supported conditions, not investment skill, professional financial competence, or readiness to manage high-value self-custody.

If the issuing educator provides a verification method, use only the instructions printed on the certificate or supplied through an independently confirmed educator channel. Check the course edition, educator or issuing organization, completion date, and status while sharing the minimum personal information necessary. A My First Bitcoin name or logo does not turn an educator-issued certificate into central My First Bitcoin certification.

Your most important result is not the certificate. It is the ability to explain money and Bitcoin clearly, recognize risk, verify before acting, and continue learning independently.
